0426 Rock Down Coal Up

This book tells the history of the Quincy & Torch Lake Railroad, owned and operated by the Quincy Mining Company. The locomotive and rails were narrow gauge and were only operated between the shaft houses of the company down to their stamp mill. The engines carried the rock/ore to the stamp mill, and on the return trip, brought the coal used at the mine site, hence the title.
